The Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, which delineates the scope of legislation concerning the safety and health protection of workers and consumers concerning risks associated with machinery usage, incorporates translations as part of the Essential Safety Requirements pertaining to Machine information and warnings::
All written or verbal information or warnings must be presented in the official languages of the European Union. These languages shall be determined in accordance with the Treaty by the Member State in which the machinery is placed on the market and/or put into service. Additionally, upon request, they may be accompanied by the language versions understood by the operators.
In particular for the following Instructions:
Each machine must be accompanied by instructions in the official languages of the European Union member state where the machine is placed on the market and/or put into service. The instructions accompanying the machine must be designated as either “Original instructions” or a “Translation of the original instructions”. In the case of a translation, it must be accompanied by a copy of the original instructions. Despite the aforementioned stipulations, maintenance instructions designated for specialised personnel as mandated by the manufacturer or its authorised representative may be provided solely in one official language of the European Union understood by said personnel.
What is the significance of translating instructions and technical documentation in general?
If the primary objective of the Directive is to enforce the Essential Health and Safety Requirements to guarantee the safety and safe use of machinery, then it follows that documents such as the User and Instruction Manual (which is one of the EHSRs requirements) are vital. This manual includes descriptions of the machinery's intended use, warnings regarding potential misuse, instructions for installation and assembly, and details about residual risks, among other information. To ensure effective comprehension, these documents must be made available in the language spoken at the destination of the machine or in the language understood by the operator who will be utilizing the machine.

CERTIFIED TRANSLATIONS
There is a possibility that you will need to provide a Certified Translation if you do business with countries such as the United States and Canada, or Great Britain. This type of translation is certified by the translator who confirms that the translation criteria used conform to the original text. -
SWORN TRANSLATIONS

This type of translation is similar to a Certified Translation. However, the difference is that a Public Official authenticates the translator's signature, making the latter fully responsible for the accuracy of the translation and any potential legal consequences that may arise from it.
The P.O. acquires a hard copy of the translated version and draws up an oath report.
Sworn translations, unlike certified translations, are legal documents that are recognised in Italy.
OUR METHOD
The certification UNI EN ISO 17100:2017 guarantees that:
- the text is translated by a native speaker who has lived at least a certain number of years in the target country
- a check is carried out on the translation process according to certain parameters
- a sector-specific proofreading is carried out, in some sectors, a translator and a proofreader are involved, in others there is a double translator or the Back Translation, as in the medical sector
Another very significant factor for you is the re-pagination of the translated version, since there are documents that, as the manufacturer's manual, must remain identical in their layout even in the translated version.
To do this, it may be necessary to manually recreate variables such as non-editable texts, cartouches, text cages as is the case in the translation from Italian into German, for example. German requires more characters to express the same concept expressed in Italian, so the same text cage cannot be used.
OUR TOOLS

When a sentence is translated, it is frozen, and as often as it occurs in the original version to be translated (Source), the corresponding sentence already translated (Target) is used for translation. This system is extremely helpful because it allows us to reduce translation time, which in turn saves you money.
