By choosing Free Edit you choose a company that encourages and is actively engaged in implementing the 10 Principles of the United Nations, and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, integrating its business model with socially responsible actions and key values in the fields of human rights, labour standards and environmental practices.
Among the initiatives in environmental stewardship, we have chosen to contribute by planting a tree for the first order of each new customer who joins the Free Edit family, as well as on other significant occasions. Indeed, we have come to realise that a tree represents more than just its physical presence.
WHY TREEDOM
We selected Treedom for our initiative because with each tree planted, we are confident in our support for:
- farmers who plant and nurture trees; they will receive financial assistance during the initial years until the tree yields fruit. The harvested produce can be utilised for personal sustenance and commercial purposes, thereby providing supplementary income and diversification
- an area, where small sustainable ecosystems and agro-forestry projects tailored to the area's characteristics and needs are established, including biodiversity conservation efforts.
- a rural community, which benefits from expertise and technical guidance on optimal agro-forestry practices, as well as funding to initiate micro-entrepreneurship ventures.
- the planet, ensuring CO2 absorption throughout the tree's lifespan, safeguarding against soil erosion and desertification, and promoting reforestation initiatives.
With Treedom we additionally contribute to the achievement of 10 Goals of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the 2030 Agenda, underscoring our commitment to take proactive steps towards these objectives:
WHY A TREE
Planting a tree is:
- concrete action in environmental conservation,
- an initiative to foster a pre-emptive response to abrupt climate shifts,
- advocacy for heightened environmental accountability,
- promotion and endorsement of a sustainable and equitable economy.
Not only that... for us the tree represents a symbol of life par excellence!
The countries presently involved in our tree-planting projects include Asia, Africa, South America, and Italy. Free Edit's trees are currently being cultivated in Cameroon and Kenya, with aspirations to extend our efforts globally 😊
